Enjoy the convenience of downloadable e-audio & e-books, music albums, comics, movies, TV shows, and more on your mobile & e-reader devices with your Goffstown Public Library Card.
If you have an app-enabled device, download these FREE third-party apps* from your device’s app store, and follow the on-screen prompts/directions to get started borrowing today.
Before you begin:
- Have your library card and PIN password available. This is the PIN password you selected when registering for your Goffstown Public Library card. If you forgot your password, please visit or call the Library at 603-497-2102, or request it online at My Account.
- If your device is password protected, please have that password on hand.
- Email account information is handy to have, especially for resetting forgotten passwords.
- Associated accounts information – For example: Kindle device users will require their Amazon username and password information; or iPod® users their iTunes information. Be prepared with all usernames & passwords for your device.
- An internet connection.
- Compatible older generation & classic e-readers may require a USB cable and a software installation on your PC.
E-books & E-audiobooks
Libby, by OverDrive* – Checkouts are limited to 3 titles at a time.
- Libby is the new app to enjoy e-books, e-audiobooks, and magazines from OverDrive.
- Easy to get started for first-time users and a streamlined experience.
- E-books can be sent to your Kindle or Kindle reading app. Learn how.
- Available from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store for smartphones and tablets, including iOS 10+.
- Need help?
- No app is required to read e-books when using any Kindle.
- The Libby app is not available to download for Kindle devices.
- To read e-books on a Kindle Fire, use the device’s web browser to visit https://libbyapp.com/ and follow the prompts to select Goffstown Public Library and enter your card number. Then you’ll be ready to start borrowing and reading on your Kindle Fire.
Between May 3 and July 28, 2022, OverDrive will perform server upgrades to enhance the performance and security of the systems used to access digital collection.
These upgrades will be completed between 6 – 8am on Tuesdays and Thursdays only during the period noted above. Service will be impacted only once for approximately 60 minutes or less.
OverDrive expects the impact to users will be minimal. You will still be able to sign in to your digital collection and browse or read titles, but may encounter errors when attempting to borrow, place a hold, or return titles during the maintenance periods.
The OverDrive app is longer available to download as of 2022, please begin using the Libby app today. OverDrive users who need help with the app should visit https://help.overdrive.com/en-us/home.htm.

Magazines
- NH Downloadable Books has received a free package of digital magazines complements of our OverDrive vendor that will remain in our collection until August 2022. Over 3,000 titles are included!

- All new magazine issues will be available with “Article View” in Libby – more readable on small devices. You can even view and print coloring book pages.

Borrowing & Renewals
Borrowing periods begin as soon as items are checked out—not when they are downloaded.
As long as there are no holds on your titles, you will be able to renew them before your loan expires with the cloudLibrary and Libby apps. hoopla items are always available and can be borrowed again within monthly limits.
