The Goffstown Public Library is in the business of celebrating local authors! Books by local authors are on display on the second floor of the Library and available for checkout.
On August 7, the Library kicked off its inaugural Author Fair, an event in which published writers could read from their work, sell books, and meet the public.
Peggy Jaeger, Suz Eglington, and Amber Cross came to town to dazzle us with their romance novels. Deb Jarvis, Michael D. Nadeau, and K. L. Jenks fabricated entirely new worlds from nothing, populating their high fantasy tomes with heroes, dastardly villains, mystical phenomena, and supernatural creatures of all shapes and sizes. Kathleen Clatanoff represented K.L. Jenks, the nom de plume adopted by Clatanoff and her sister when, in retirement, they finally had the time to set forth a trilogy of Kindle Book novels (these are not available in print) centered around a story they’d been talking about for years.
Nonfiction talent also had its place under the tent; Goffstown’s own Dr. Shanita Williams promoted her thought-provoking work on how to effectively give and deliver useful feedback, while herbalist and former hospice nurse Ellie Atherton proffered her two ruminative books about the lessons we can learn from those who are in the process of dying.
The library has added works into the permanent collection from all authors who had physical books to sell.

During the Author Fair, each author had the opportunity to read from their work aloud in the Speaker’s Corner. In addition to attending authors, Edgar-nominated Goffstown resident Tony Tremblay, also read from his most recent foray into fictional horror. G-TV camera operator Adan Pena captured footage from the event, and was a stalwart trooper, manning his camera in the blaring heat of the sun.
