Shakespeare in NH - MAY 2016

It’s been 400 years since Shakespeare’s death, and his First Folio is traveling the 50 states in 2016, with a stop at the Currier Museum of Art.

Without the First Folio, many plays written by William Shakespeare would have been lost to today’s readers. Shakespeare’s plays were written to be performed and weren’t published during his lifetime. It wasn’t until seven years after his death that 36 plays were gathered and published by his fellow actors.

In honor of the Folio’s visit to New Hampshire, GMILCS* libraries have scheduled a number of related events illuminating his enduring works.
